April 2026 PMI Austin Lunch & Learn

Headline: Supply Chain Management in the Age of AI

AI is changing how organizations plan, source, move, and manage work across the supply chain. In this PMI Austin Lunch and Learn, Mohan Gopalakrishnan, PhD, will explore how supply chain management is evolving from reactive, siloed planning to more predictive, connected, and intelligent decision-making.

Grounded in academic research and practical examples, this session will show how generative AI and advanced machine learning can improve forecast accuracy, inventory turns, cost efficiency, and operational resilience when paired with strong data, governance, and process design.

Attendees will leave with a clearer view of where AI creates value across the supply chain lifecycle, what capabilities and architecture are required, and how leaders can balance opportunity with risk, governance, and adoption challenges.

You’ll learn how to:

  • Explain why AI matters in supply chain management today, including its impact on forecasting, resilience, and decision speed.
  • Identify practical AI use cases across the supply chain lifecycle, from planning and sourcing to logistics and risk management.
  • Evaluate key implementation needs and risks, including data readiness, governance, cybersecurity, people change, and success metrics.

Key takeaways:

  • A practical view of how AI is reshaping supply chain management and where it can deliver measurable value.
  • Real-world examples and research-backed insights on forecasting, efficiency, resilience, and decision support.
  • A clear outline of architecture, data, and integration considerations for AI-enabled supply chain initiatives.
  • Implementation guidance covering governance, cybersecurity, adoption, KPIs, and lessons learned.
