TITLE Navigating the Challenges of AI Development: Accuracy, Latency, and User Interfaces

Description of Presentation

In this engaging presentation, we delve into the intricacies of developing AI applications, focusing specifically on three core challenges: ensuring the accuracy of generative AI responses, managing latency, and moving beyond chatbot-style interfaces to develop more interactive user experiences.

First, we will explore the importance of accuracy in generative AI and discuss potential pitfalls and strategies to overcome them. This includes a deep dive into the role of external data sources and “context management”.

Next, we tackle the often-overlooked issue of latency in AI applications. We will analyze its impact on user experience and operational efficiency, and brainstorm on ways to effectively manage it without sacrificing the benefits of AI.

Last, we will challenge the conventional reliance on chatbot-style interfaces in AI applications. We will examine alternative user interface models that promote greater user interaction, thereby enhancing user engagement and satisfaction.

Learning Objectives for Presentation

  • By the end of the presentation, attendees will understand the key challenges in ensuring the accuracy of generative AI responses and will be able to identify at least two strategies for overcoming these challenges, as gauged in post-presentation Q&A.
  • Attendees will comprehend the complexities of managing latency in AI applications and will be able to suggest at least one solution to this problem during an interactive brainstorming session within the presentation.
  • Through a detailed analysis of various user interface models, attendees will gain the ability to propose one way to promote user interaction in AI applications that moves beyond traditional chatbot-style interfaces, to be shared during a Q&A segment at the end of the presentation.

Expected Key Takeaways:

Attendees will not only gain a comprehensive understanding of these challenges but will also actively engage in identifying potential solutions, fostering a deeper comprehension of the practical aspects of AI development. This presentation aims to equip attendees with the knowledge to navigate these hurdles in their own organizations, promoting more effective and efficient AI application development.
