A practical approach to creating and implementing Agile Hybrid PM frameworks and practices

The role of a Project Management Office (PMO) has been changing over the years and several PMOs have embarked on an Agile Hybrid PM Transformation and Leadership journey. The process advisory, portfolio governance and strategic partnership model of the IT PMO promotes successful implementation and delivery of multiple programs and projects in the portfolio. Innovative frameworks, sustainable practices, creative tools & templates, collaborative teams, customer focused hybrid portfoilos, programs & projects and value assured quality deliverables are all essential components for success. Effective organizational adaptation of Agile principles and a Hybrid blended approach of multiple Agile practices is a crucial requirement. In this session, Ram shares practical how to approaches in building and  iplementing the Agile Hybrid PM frameworks and practices across multiple geenertions of PMOs, the challenges, the successes and the lessons learned from his ongoing Agile Hybrid PM Transformation and Leadership journey.

Speakers:

Ram Dokka

Ram is a global PM practitioner, speaker, mentor, youth & social good community builder, and PM volunteer leader.

Ram is currently working as a Sr. IT Project Manager in the PMO division of the City Of Austin (COA)'s Communications and Technology Management (CTM) department. He played several IT projects, Program & Portfolio leadership, and Agile transformation, implementation & coaching roles in COA PMOs for over 17 years. Ram successfully led multiple IT project portfolios, PMO methodologies & frameworks, and process improvement, governance, strategy & roadmap development initiatives. He uses a successful blend of the conventional project management principles and the Agile Hybrid PM adaptation for achieving organizational benefits while ensuring incremental value delivery, teamwork, and stakeholder satisfaction.

Prior to joining the City Of Austin, Ram also led several IT initiatives in the private industry and non-profit sectors. Ram holds multiple professional certifications including PMP, PgMP, PMI-ACP, Certified Business Intelligence Professional, and Six Sigma Black Belt.  Ram developed & taught Agile Project & Program leadership-based courses as part of the Data Warehousing and Business Intelligence Master's and Professional Certification (CPBI) program for Villanova University.

Ram has been a long-time PMI volunteer and the President of the PMI Austin chapter in 2013 & 2014. Ram is the current (2017-2022) Board Director and 2021 Chair of PMI Educational Foundation (PMIEF). Ram led the creation and implementation of the organizational vision and strategy for the PMI Austin Chapter and PMI Educational Foundation.

Spoke at multiple in-person, virtual, and hybrid events organized by the PMI Chapters including Lunch-n-Learns, Chapter meetings, Fall & Spring PDDs, and PMI’s Regional and Global events such as Regional meetings, LIMs, and Global congresses.
