Title: Agile Project Planning and Status Reporting

Session Abstract:

Being agile is not an excuse not to plan. Management still wants to know when they’re going to get their stuff, and they also want to know the current status of the project at the end of every sprint. Here’s an easy way to plan your next agile project and collect the right statistics for transparent status reporting.

In this session, you will learn how to plan with agility, estimate time to completion, and report individual epic and project status.

Title: Becoming an Exemplary Leader

Session Abstract:

Good leaders bring out three times more talent, energy, and motivation of their employees. This requires leaders to go beyond just tactical problem solving and directing folks through day-to-day issues under the guise of leadership. Experience in this mini-workshop what research has shown: how empowerment, self-direction, and self-management lead to greater innovation, higher levels of commitment, and happier employees, which in turn impacts the bottom line.

In this hands-on leadership session, we’ll discuss Kouzes & Posner’s Five Practices of Exemplary Leadership. Then, in small groups, participants will apply the practices to various typical leadership challenge scenarios felt in the workplace today. In this session, you will gain greater understanding of leadership needed in today’s modern projects, obtain insights on actions you can take as Project Manager to lead versus manage and learn to apply the concepts of Exemplary Leadership.
