PARKING: Metered street parking is available on both 11th & West, please do not park in the “MITTE STAFF ONLY” spaces.

Registration: $15 (Price includes lunch and your PDU credit) Online registration and payment only; no payments will be accepted at the event.

Project Management and Leadership in Agile Software Development

In the midst of rapidly changing market needs, competition, renewed customer centric product delivery and the underlying technology, Agile has become the de facto Software Development Life Cycle Methodology. Does this mean that the role of the traditional Project Manager is beginning to wither, and the Agile Project Leader takes over? The overarching success factors that influence the outcome of agile projects depends on how well leaders can embrace change, being a servant leader and knowing what tools and techniques really makes sense to guide the success of agile projects. This presentation is designed to engage you, bring forth your experiences, and provide a holistic view of Agile.

  • Acquire a holistic view of different Agile methodologies
  • Identify Agile Models, Agile Project Management Characteristics and Misconceptions
  • Deep dive into Scoping for Agile projects and Requirements Management using Agile tools

About the Speaker: Brian Basu, MBA, CBAP, CSM

Brian Basu, MBA, CBAP, CSM has over 18 years of hands on progressive leadership experience in Solution Delivery and managing projects using Agile Software Development approaches. He has worked as an Enterprise Business Analyst, Project Manager, Product Owner, and Manager of teams for several information technology organizations in AIG, AXA, Maximus, Hertz Dollar Thrifty, 3M and Whole Foods. In his current position with Whole Foods, Brian is leading the Project Management of Cloud Infrastructure using Amazon Web Services. He holds an MBA with focus on Project Management from the New York Institute of Technology. Brian is a learner, mentor, evangelist of agile practices, project management, and business analysis.



About The Charity: The Texas Mamma Jamma Ride

 The Texas Mamma Jamma Ride is an annual bike ride that raises funds to support local programs and services for breast cancer fighters and survivors in Central Texas. The 9th Annual Texas Mamma Jamma Ride will be held on Saturday, September 23, 2017 in historic Martindale, Texas. In its first eight years Mamma Jamma has returned over $1.5 million to its local beneficiary organizations (Breast Cancer Resource Center, Wonders & Worries, Community Action Central Texas, WINGS, Seton Breast Center, Komen Austin, Team Survivor, Care Communities).
