Not your mama's acceptance criteria: a product owner's guide to writing excellent user stories

Many Product Owners are assigned their role without really understanding how to write high-quality user stories or how to effectively manage their product backlog. In this interactive workshop, attendees will learn about the full lifecycle of agile requirements, including how to use visual models at each step of the iterative process to identify, prioritize, and refine user stories with testable acceptance criteria. Through the use of a real-world example, this discussion will explore how to:

  • Establish prioritization drivers using the business objectives model
  • Identify user stories using feature trees and process flows
  • Elaborate user stories with mock-ups
  • Refine user story acceptance criteria using display action response tables, decision tables, and the “Given, When, Then” technique
